Wimping Society By Conforming To The Whiners

I remember when I had to take final exams in high school and college there was tremendous stress associated with it. Staying up nights to study to know every detail, only to find that most was useless. Still I prepared myself and felt greatly relieved when it was all over with. I had a sense of accomplishment, even when I didn't do too well.
Now imagine hearing that today's students suffer a high depression rate over their last year and final exams. Why is it that society sees this as a problem that needs to be dealt with?
In the US most students can't master the English language because of cultural differences, slang, and even Text Messaging. There was once talk about introducing Ebonics as a second language. What is Ebonics? It's Black culture street talk.
It seems laughable to me that everything most of us had to go through to grow-up and learn is causing undo stress on today's wimps.
