War On Drugs BS

A man gets stopped at a weight station and declares he does not have illegal substances, but has a bit more cash than $10000. He had $23700. This story has too many holes. Because he had to declare any amount of cash over $10000, makes me think that he had crossed the border. The fact that it mentions Border Patrols confirms it.
The article said the DEA took the money and that the man would have to prove that the money didn't come from illegal drug sales. Of course the wonderful ACLU is involved so more than likely he is a scumbag criminal. I doubt that state and federal authorities picked this guy at random just to hassle him.
Could it be that they ran a check and found a known drug dealer? Could it be that this guy had sold his stash? Who carries thousands of dollars IN CASH??? I give the authorities a thumbs-up on this one! We need to know ALL the facts rather than thinking that the DEA is wasting our tax dollars for nothing!
