It seems that the Somali pirates are a couple of boats and crews short. This isn't because they got there ransom, but rather a turning of the tables. Egyptian fisherman simultaneously launched an attack on their captors in two separate boats. Using machetes the fishermen attacked, overpowered and seized their captors' guns. The crews and boats then managed to escape.
Using your own weapons against you is something no one wishes for. There is information that they may have been helped by some of the pirates themselves. Congratulations to the inspirational crew that eventually fought fire with fire.
