The Short Life of Triumph
May 20th 2007 17:29
In the late 70s and early 80s, a powerful Canadian rock trio emerged from the Great White North. It wasn't Rush it was Triumph. Where Rush was compared to Led Zeppelin, Triumph was compared to Rush. Nonetheless, Triumph was a rock band in it's own right and helped mold my tastes in Rock.
Triumph began to take shape in 1975 when Gil Moore and Mike Levine asked Rik Emmett to help them cut a demo for a local recording company. In 1988, Rik left the band for a solo career, and after he left he was replaced by Phil Xenidis. After Emmett, Triumph ceased to be as far as I was concerned.
More information on Triumph can be found in more detail here and here.
Then there is always their official website. My favorite albums by the group were Allied Forces and Just A Game!
