The Ugly Side Of Journalism
April 3rd 2008 16:36
Things are not always what they seem and at times they can be downright deceiving. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and if you put your own words to the picture, you can pretty much arouse emotion. We see it going on in journalism a lot where sensationalism and making things seem worse/better than they are. I've had it done in the past when a reporter distorted most of my interview.
This is why I am usually skeptical as to what most say. If you discuss politics and religion you will always have as many views as people. The amazing thing is that each thinks they are right, and have to argue their points to no end. It's almost as if that is what is expected of you.
So now you have a situation where a British net newspaper talks how the US is going through hard times and another depression. They use a picture to prove their point. Well, some Americans give them back a bit of reality.
You get my point!
