Parents Of The Year
November 7th 2008 01:43
Since their daughter was turning 17, the parents allowed her have alcohol at her birthday party under their supervision. Well they were present, anyway. She text her high-school friends as young as 15 to invite and tell them about the alcohol. This would have gone unnoticed except that they allowed a drunk 15 year old to get behind the wheel and drive!
She then hit a telephone pole and rolled the vehicle. There were three other youngsters in her vehicle, but were unhurt. The 15 year old suffered minor injuries and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. She also was not old enough to have a license.
Drinking age is 21 in New York State and the parents and birthday daughter face charges. They may also face legal action by the parents of the invited partygoers. The parents of the driver were unaware she took their vehicle.
