I loved science-fiction movies as a kid. I soon grew out of those childhood fantasies and went on with my life. I was actually able to distinguish reel life from real life!
Many people have seen UFOs and I am no exception. I believe that these are man-made but the purpose has always remained a mystery. Maybe they are secret weapons or maybe they are a way to fan the flames of UFOs, aliens, life on other planets, Capt. Kirk, etc. Whether real or fiction, playing on people's fears and fascinations have always been a lucrative business!
We tend to believe that aliens are an advanced and highly intelligent life form that are trying to get in touch with us. Seems if they have more intelligence, it is they that would have communicated their intentions to us eons ago. So now we get those who have been 'abducted' by aliens and lived to talk about it. You should question things when somebody is making money at your expense!
Of course the most likely to be abducted, the astronauts, seem to have no problem NOT being abducted. Oh wait, most UFOers believe that that is taking place in a basement. Or maybe that's another set of conspiracy theorists.
The truth is that the people who believe in aliens are highly intelligent themselves. They may just question the existence of God or a spiritual power. Let's not forget Heaven's Gate!
