Green Vegetable Matter
April 2nd 2008 04:56
In January a man was arrested for possessing an unspecified amount of marijuana. Over 2 months later he goes to trial and his case gets dismissed. The crime lab had not yet sent the analysis of the green vegetable matter. Nor did they supply a report to police verifying that the alleged plant matter was pot. Now they didn't have the expert evidence needed to determine that it was indeed pot. The defense lawyer basically said that it isn't her client's fault that labs are backed up. Therefore the case was dismissed and the man was free to go.
He was arrested and I'm sure the cops knew it was pot. Yet they needed a lab to verify that it was pot? I think it was the prosecutor and lab technicians that went up in smoke!
