More Common Than You Think

Years ago when a reporter reported on an 8 year-old heroin addict, she was thrown in jail when she refused to give the child's identity. It was a type of journalist/snitch immunity to not give the name of your source. Now 8 seems to be the new 18, especially in life experiences.

An 8 year-old disabled student was caught trying to sell marijuana to his peers! I can see right now that this blog will continue to keep me busy!

I'm all for allowing grown ups to be grown ups, but it is really disheartening to know that there are children so young making choices for their lives that they can't possibly understand the consequences to.
