I agree that there are double standards when it comes to marijuana. The 'legalize' crowd cites various figures that prove their point, as do the 'illegal' crowd. One thing that is true...and argue this one with yourself!...is that pot is addicting.
The arguement on both sides can be found in the article. In the USA each state does have their own laws governing enforcement of marijuana. One state may slap you on the wrist for a certain amount, while another state may throw you in prison and fine you for the same amount.
I don't think anyone sees anything wrong with this from thearticle: ... in Alaska there is no penalty for possessing an ounce or less at home.
The problem is that one time you were allowed a quarter pound(112 grams) for personal use and possession. So if you think the law advanced there, think again.
