I use to say irregardless instead of regardless. The first is a bogus word, while the latter is the correct word. Words have been misused so many times that we take it for granted.

Here are nine words that don't mean what you think.

The word irregardless is obviously a portmanteau of regardless and irrespective, which is not so much incorrect as it is pointless when you consider that the two mean precisely the same thing. For such a construction to be valid it would have to add some nuance that neither conveys on their own, whereas here they only function tautologically.
