Sanctions Are Working
May 27th 2008 21:38
I've lived in different parts of the world so I know how different people think. Although the Iraq War is blamed for bringing out an anti-American sentiment, I've known this same sentiment since the '70s. It seems it started during the second World War and picked up steam during the Cold War. But I am not here to discuss anti or pro American issues.
When I watched the news in Europe, it showed things that the American media never even touched on. When the USA said everything was fine, Europe proved it wasn't. That is just the way it is. Political parties are the same way. When one finds good the other finds bad. Behind closed doors politicians are buddies but they get their constituents in a frenzy because if you divide you truly conquer. That's why there will always be opposing views with the entire human race. Each yells louder and tries to find the biggest stick to put their point across. That's why debates serve no purpose other than to bring out opposing views.
Americans debate much about God and Government, and I find it laughable when one quotes a forefather who was for it, and another quotes the SAME forefather who was against it! But that's politics. And politics tend to be more of a blur when it comes to the International type. Most people in other countries distort our images to create anti-American sensationalism. They don't bat an eye when America send billions in aid to their Country...which they take with open arms...but take joy in biting the hand that feeds them.
Too bad.
The media in America is talking about Iran's nuclear program. We have heard Mr. Ahmadinejad and all his retoric and thumbing of his nose at the UN Sanctions. After all they haven't worked in almost 30 years. And in America, we believe it. But, what really is going on?
Seems that the WORLD has come on board and realized what a threat Iran truly is. Sanctions are starting to work! This isn't in any US mass media newspaper, it comes from Italy. A Country that relies on Iranian oil...even though they are a US ally. China, Italy, Germany, Bahrain, etc., are all taking their business elsewhere.
Now I know what you're saying-the US is behind it! Well, duh! You like our business or do you want to go at it alone? Perhaps you should talk to your politicians rather than the people whose blood they live off of!
Speaking of Mr. Nutajob, he is planning a secret visit to Rome. Hope he doesn't back out like he did for the soccer match in Germany. And yes Mr. Berlusconi is perhaps pro-American.
Too bad.
The people elected him, just like the Iranians elected Mr. Ahmadinejad.
