I Trust My Child
March 10th 2008 21:58
If you trust your child to make the right decision, perhaps you lack parenting skills. If a 15 year-old said she would have a few friends over, a parent should question the 'a few'! Some people forget their teens and adolescent years and think their kids are the exception. It always happens in the 'nice' areas that kids are raised with a sense of trust. Unfortunately what you don't know won't hurt. What you do know means that your kid isn't too worried about it!
When the parents of a 15 year-old return home, they are shocked to find that the house is not how they left it. Dog overdosed on ecstasy, underwear and handcuffs in 8 year-old's room, evidence of gang sex in parent's room, etc., all made for a parent's dream turned nightmare.
And is the 15 year-old apologetic?
...Gemma, who drank to excess and passed out at 7:30pm is not repentant. While she has gone into hiding she has managed to post comments about the party on her Bebo site.
"Yeahh it (the party) went wrong but it was well good. . . I mean it was f****** good," she wrote.
"My mother thought it would teach me a lesson by putting it in the papers. . . all thats dne is make everyone go 'wow ur party made the front page' . . . i meann it wasssss goooodddd. . . and my mums a t*** nehowww. . ."
Yes, the parents still might not have a clue that their public outrage has made for an @$$-kicking party the next time their daughter wants only 'a few' friends over!
