Fugu You!

I learned about Fugu from an episode of The Simpsons where Homer had consumed the deadly side of the blowfish. At the time I thought it was some type of a cartoon joke and didn't think it was true. Over the years, the popularity of the blowfish fugu has proven that Homer wasn't too far off!
I have always had my doubts about sushi as a whole and don't believe that Oriental food is as healthy as many claim. That is whole other topic in a whole other blog. The thing is that just knowing some parts of an animal are edible and others are poisonous would make me totally disregard or even attempt to taste the delicacy. Even if it would mean the best sex ever...sort of speak!
In a bit of an ironic twist, a certified Fugu chef poisons himself after eating the liver of a blowfish. Yes he will survive but has bought great humiliation to other Japanese Fugu chefs. I feel the last line sums it up:
"If we could have our way, we would like to revoke his license for such stupidity,"

Raw Fish
As for Fugu, I would probaby try it, but couldn't they catch any non toxic fish?
