Doubt About Palin
September 14th 2008 23:42
I first need to say that I am a Christian and my views revolve around the divine rather than secular. But still I know the need for secular, because we live in a secular world. I can separate the two and function in both through my daily routines. I render to Cesaer his dues and God his dues. I can explain evolution(although it's not what you think) in the Bible, but why bother.
Back in the 70s and 80s there was a popularBorn-Again movement that was spreading across the Country. Although most were legitimate Christian denominations, some were cults. The Assembly of God, or Pentecostals, were labeled as a cult. A cult is based on mind control and their recruitment is done by their members.
A few years back, I saw this movement become mainstream Christrian in my area. They still have cultish ways. I worked at a job with a Pastor from the church that kept wanting me to go and see what it is about. No, thanks, I experienced cult life back in the late 70s, until Jim Jones opened my eyes.
These days the US politics are in the world arena, and everyone has an opinion about the candidates and politics. Noone has drawn more pros and cons than Sarah Palin. Besides the fact that her kids have odd names, Sarah Palin is a Pentecostal.
Of course Presidents and Vices can't spread any type of agenda, so I am not worried about any of her beliefs. Our government is made up of checks-and-balances that see to that. They are known as the three branches of government and each has veto power.
The thing is that Palin is part of a mainstream cult, and that for me would cast a doubt on voting.
