The Changing War

Apparently Karzai is ready to send Afghan troops in Pakistan. He plans to take the fight where Pakistan fears to tread! The tribal protected areas is where he is talking about. This is where both Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters are given a safe haven to carry out cross-boarder attacks.
Surely, he must be bluffing? Wouldn't this increase the attempts on his life that has seen past attempts fail? Years ago I didn't think Afghanistan had a military. It'll be interesting if he does deliver his promise and the Afghani military is stronger than I would give it credit for.
I'm not going to assume anything before knowing what end justified the means. In my defense, this is the first I ever heard of the military in Afghanistan. Karzai is using the 'self defense' argument because the attacks are coordinated in Pakistani territory.
